    Description

    A antique plate from Grimwade's WW1 Bruce Bairnsfather Ware Old Bill collection. A humorous take on the war, Capt. Bairnsfather started drawing the cartoons in 1915 and they were featured in publications during and after the war.
    This plate is 6.5" wide and the drawing states "Dear - at present we are staying at a farm"
    The bottom says, "A Souvenir of the Great War; Commenced Aug 4th 1914; Armistice Nov 11th 1918; Peace signed June 8th 1919" along with "Bairnsfather Ware" Grimwades Stoke on Trent and a cartoon of "Old Bill", Bairnsfather's most famous character.
    Plate is in good condition with no damage - usage and age ware minimal.
