    The term «suzani» («needle», «sewing by a needle») origins from Tadjik language  «suzan» - "needle".

    Suzani
    was a part of bride's obligatory dowry. Traditionally the embroidery started at a birth of the daughter and continued till the bride's dowry had not been completely collected. However, household use of such embroideries had also the ritual character connected with ancient beliefs in national consciousness: embroideries as a whole, and their separate patterns in people's representation had magic character, served for a young pair as a talisman against the evil spirits that could harm
