A more than tough to find1950's 1 1/4" in diameter Eddie LeBaron pinback that has the original double ribbon along with a RAH RAH RAH metal flag and mini football hanging from the flag. Here's a history of LeBaron -Eddie LeBaron played four years for College of the Pacific (now University of the Pacific) in Stockton, Calif. He played one year, 1946, for Amos Alonzo Stagg. This was the last year as a head coach for 84 year old, Stagg. The team had a 5-6 record. He played three years under Larry Siemering. The Tigers went 9-1, 7-1-2, 11-0 in those years. In the last year, 1949, the Tigers averaged 52 points per game to opponents' 6. LeBaron made All-American in 1949. He played quarterback on offense, safety on defense, and punted. He was Most Valuable Player in the Shrine East-West game. In 1950 he quarterbacked the College All-Stars to a 17-7 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. LeBaron was 5-7 in height, weighed 166, and had 19 games in which he played the full 60 minutes. In his career he completed 197 passes for 3,838 yards and 45 touchdowns. He also ran for 6 touchdowns and scored once on an 82-yard run after a pass interception. LeBaron served as a Marine officer in the Korean war and was wounded twice by shrapnel in his leg and shoulder. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Letter of Commendation. He played 11 seasons in the National Football League with Washington 1952- 1953, 1955-1959 and Dallas 1960-1963. In 1954, he played in the Canadian Football League. Edward W. LeBaron, Jr. was born Jan. 7 1930, in San Rafael, Cal. He attended high school in Oakdale, Calif. He was just 16 years old in his first college football season, 1946. He won four letters in football and one in baseball. Between seasons in his pro career, LeBaron obtained a law degree. He practiced law in Nevada 1964-1976. He was general manager of the Atlanta Falcons 1977-1986. Following that, he resumed law practice. The pinback is in excellent condition with barely the tiniest scratching not seen with the regular eye. No foxing anywhere, the bottom half cover of the football hanging from the flag is missing.
