Please note that the face molds (unless otherwise stated) are hard to use for a beginner. Although I have seen some beginners do just fine after a few tries. I make faces which are flatter with less 3-d features. But then when the crevices and face form detail is lessened to make it easier for the beginner, many of the details are taken out also.
This face is a level 8 on the the difficulty scale, 1 being the easiest and 10 being most difficult.
You are purchasing a one of a kind mold from a one of a kind face sculpture done by myself.
You may not reproduce a mold from the positive (face form) that comes from the mold. You may not sell molds to the face form that comes from the mold. You are purchasing the right to incorporate this face form into your own art. If you sell on your own site please do not advertise that the face is your own original design. This causes confusion to other artists that see mine and then see that you are calling it your own original. It is handmade by you but not your original design.
HOW TO USE THE FACE MOLD: place the empty mold in the freezer for 10 minutes. Prepare your polymer clay by kneading it, folding it over as this conditions the clay. Have the clay you are going to push into the mold softened. only after 10 minutes of sitting in your freezer, take the organic polymer clay mold out of the freezer and brush in baby powder with cornstarch (it works the best) into the mold. I sort of flatten the polymer clay (i prefer premo) but most work great and then push one side into the mold, holding the clay with the other hand so the clay does not rock back and forth or move at all while taking the impression. You must really push into the deepest part of the mold to get the tip of the mold. If you do not push your clay deep into the crevices enough, the end of the nose will be flat, or the eyes will not be as detailed, nor will the lips be defined. RECOMMENDED CLAYS ARE POLYMER CLAY, fIMO, PREMO, KATO, SCULPEY III, KERNIT, PAPER MACHE CLAY, COLD PORCELAIN, ANY TYPE OF CLAY THAT CAN BE PUSHED INTO THE MOLD, HOLD FORM WHEN TAKEN OUT AND THEN BAKED.
DO NOT BAKE YOUR FIGURAL WHILE IN THE MOLD.
FOR MAKING YOUR OWN JEWELRY, GLUE ONTO BOXES OR USE FOR MIXED MEDIA WALL ART, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE THIS MOLD OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR MANY DIFFERENT PROJECTS. DO NOT USE SOAP, DO NOT USE POURED RESINS OR MOLTEN METALS, iF YOU ARE UNSURE PLEASE ASK
