Description

Up for sale is a fine quality Chinese antique porcelain teapot, completely hand decorated in famille rose enamel. The decoration depicts a bird perching on flower branches, flowers and a bat. The lid was decorated with chrysanthemums, pomegranates, and insects. The finial was molded into two little peaches with leaves. A very neatly-made piece. The teapot is dated circa Republic Hongxian period (1915-1916AD). It is measured about 6 14/16 inch (17.46 cm) widest from the the tip of spout, about 3 9/16 inch (9.04 cm) tall with the lid on, and about 4 1/4 inch (10.8cm) in diameter at the bottom. There is a very small rim chip and a very shallow glaze flake at the upper opening rim (as indicated by red arrows in our pictures). Few glaze fleabites. Otherwise, it is in superb antique condition. Normal enamel wear. There is four character Hongxian reign mark on the bottom (1915-1916AD) in iron red enamel. The sale is for the teapot ONLY. The stand or the snuff bottle is NOT included!
