Description

A very early pre-revolutionary American Colonial Era manuscript document, a promissory note between Thomas Richardson of Pelham, New Hampshirwe and Edward Coburn of Dracutt, Massachusetts dated July 21, 1750.  The signature of Thomas Richardson has been removed as a cancellation.  Interesting in that Thomas Richardson served in the Revolutionary War in the company of Capt. Joseph Bradley Varnum.  This document has been signed by John Varnum and Phebe Varnum as witnesses, probably relatives of Capt. Varnum.  Thomas Richardson later moved from Pelham to Dracutt.  This document is approximately 7 1/2" x 3 1/4" in size, has fold lines, very dark ink, easily read.  A super document from some of our earliest colonial era pioneers.
