    Description

Up for auction is a large collection of documents and papers that once belonged to the Merrell family circa 1792-1840.Many documents have the following names  and in some cases signatures William Merrell, Hiram H. Merrell, Jacob Merrell. The oldest documents belonged to J
acob Merrell born in West Hartford CT in 1758
    . His grandson was
President Edward H. Merrell of Ripon College, Ripon, Ws.
In total the group contains 113 documents deeds, summery of a Will, land survey, ledger pages, writs, indentures , payments, promissory notes etc.  Of note thirty nine documents had a signature clipped from a portion of the document sometime in the past. The remainder roughly sixty two documents appear to be complete. There are many other signatures or names mentioned whom I have not researched in full. One whom may is possibly a Rev War vet Bela Strong and others whom I am sure may have served during the war. In fact I have done very little research with this lot so perhaps there are some surprises in store for the wining bidder.
Condition overall acceptable: Expect age toning, foxing minor closes tears, one or two documents split in half some may be remnants of large documents see photos for more details. As always any questions feel free to ask.
