    Description

    Up for sale is this antique 1795 handwritten maritime letter written by a sailor named Aaron to a man named Sam Sanford of Newport, Rhode Island.  In the letter Aaron writes, "I have run to Charleston South Carolina & sent my schooner to North Carolina." He then goes on to say that he has sent "Sixteen Dollars down to you by way of Capt. Sam."
    The letter is in overall good condition with some typical signs of wear and age.  It is written on watermarked paper which has a couple of jagged edges.  The paper measures approximately 9 3/8 inches by 8 inches.
