American Colonial Era Manuscript Receipt, Hartford, CT, May 30, 1781

Description

An American Colonial Era manuscript document, a receipt from Col. Thomas Seymour in part payment for (?) to Samuel Bell clearly dated at Hartford, May 30, 1781.  Thomas Seymour was born in Hartford in 1735 and died there in 1829 at age 94.  He had served as an officer during the Revolutionary War.  Samuel Bell (1718-1807) was also from Hartford.  This document is approximately 7 3/4" x 2 1/4" in size.  Money amounts are in Pounds Sterling.
