This17 x 11 inch 2 page document dated 1765  is for the sale of a plantation containing 299 acres on Round O Road near Round O, SC.  Jasper Ackerman is selling the plantation to Thomas Bosomworth of St Catherine Island, GA. Thomas Bosomworth signed the document on the second page along with witnesses James Marshall and Charles Watson.  Thomas Bosomworth a clergyman came to America with General Oglethorpe's regiment of Highlanders in 1736.  About 1749 he married Mary Musgrove, a woman of the Creek Nation, who had been twice widowed of white husbands. Mary gradually became recognized by the Creek Nation as their Queen. The document is in good condition for its age but has had some splitting at the fold seams which has been repaired with acid free archival tape. shipping includes insurance.
