Description

JOHN MAY of WOODSTOCK "(supposed to lie in the County of Windham)"..."in consideration of the Paternal love and affection which I bare unto my Beloved son CALEB MAY of Woodstock..." "be husbandman; and for his advancement and settlement in the world..." conveys one third part of John May's homestead bounded partly by land belonging to CAPT. JOSEPH LYON, partly by highway, northerly upon WILLIAM CHILD'S land and partly upon THOMAS BACON'S land. Also references the LITTLE CEDAR SWAMP. In addition to about 200 acres of land, deed appears to include 1/3 of John May's dwelling, corn house and barn. All for the sum of 1,000 pounds and maybe another 400 pounds.
Sealed s
ignatures of JOHN and ELIZABETH MAY appear to be dated September 23, 1751. Not sure about "September". Recording date is January 31, 1752.
Very good condition other than some tiny holes at the folds and "1752 deed .00" is written in pencil.
